About Us
Formed as The Northern Hammers in 1993 the name was changed to the Trans Pennine Irons in 2014 to better reflect the location of our membership. Stretching along and off the range of the Pennine Hills and the M62 corridor. We currently have over 230 members from Merseyside in the west, to Humberside and Lincolnshire in the east. Cumbria, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland in the north, to Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire in the south. The bulk of the membership reside in the West and South Yorkshire counties, Greater Manchester and surrounds. We often meet up on trains to home games and suggest pubs at away games. For those not travelling more local groups often arrange get togethers for TV games. Most notably during the road to Prague many met up in Manchester, Sheffield and Darlington for instance. The aim of the group is to recognise the many long distance West Ham fans spread across the north of England and for members to help each other with tickets and transportation. We are associate members of the Football Supporters Association.
